CWO - Southern Region

Katy Bourne Welcome to the Southern Region Conservative Women's Organisation. We cover the following counties: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey, East and West Sussex - a total of 84 Parliamentary Constituencies.

As Southern Region is so large, each County has their own Area Chairman whose role it is to look after our members, support existing CWO branches and encourage the formation of new ones.

Our aim is to encourage more women to vote and to actively participate in politics.

Membership of CWO offers many benefits. Here are just a few:

* Development Training Programmes – to help individuals with their personal and political development and to actively encourage more women to stand for public office as local Councillors, School Governors, JPs etc.

* Access to our exciting Regional Conference and numerous social events annually

* CWO Forums – an opportunity for women to discuss and debate direct with MPs and Ministers, particular issues affecting them

* C-WiSE – Conservative Women in Small Enterprises is designed to give female entrepreneurs and women in start-ups, micro and small businesses an opportunity to engage with issues that impact their commercial lives.

The CWO is the oldest women’s political organization in the world with an enviable heritage - First Female MP (Lady Astor), First Muslim Female in Cabinet (Baroness Sayeeda Warsi) and Britain’s First Female Prime Minister (Baroness Margaret Thatcher).
